The Brand Story Architect's Toolkit

60+ tools, services, and resources I actually use to architect stories that turn growth-stage brands into category leaders.

The Uncomfortable Truth About "Best Tools" Lists

Most "best tools" roundups are written by people who haven't used half the tools on their list.

They scraped affiliate programs, ranked by commission rate, and wrote 200 words of generic copy per tool. You've read them. You know the feeling. You close the tab annoyed and no more informed than when you opened it.

This is different.

Every tool on this page earns its spot because it's part of how I build brand stories for growth-stage companies. Some I use daily. Some I use for specific phases of the Story Architecture System™. A few I use once a quarter for something nothing else can do.

I don't include tools because they have affiliate programs. I include them because I'd use them whether they paid me or not. Where an affiliate link exists, I'll tell you.

This page updates itself from my own bookmarks database. When I add a tool worth recommending, it shows up here. When I stop using something, it disappears.

No stale recommendations. No dead links. No tools I used once in 2022.

Research & Story Excavation

Research & Story Excavation

Before a camera turns on, before a script gets written, there's excavation. This is where the Story Architecture System™ begins. You're mining for the raw material of the brand story. These tools power that phase.

How I Built This Stack

A few principles for building your own stack:

Pay for what saves time. Use free for what doesn't. Test for 30 days before committing. Tools don't fix process problems. And delete what you don't use.

I audit this list quarterly. If I haven't opened a tool in 90 days, it comes off. Your toolkit should be lean, not impressive.
